Pardubice and Mladá Boleslav drew 1-1 in the Czech League's fourth round on Saturday. The result extends the visitors' unbeaten run to eight matches across all competitions, while the hosts remain rooted to the bottom of the table with just two points from seven games. To be fair, neither side dominated in a way that suggested a different outcome.
V. Patrak gave Pardubice the lead in the tenth minute, though he was substituted himself just over twenty minutes later. Mladá Boleslav responded after the hour mark when M. Subert equalised in the seventy-fifth minute. The match produced six yellow cards in total—three for each side—with Pardubice's Emmanuel Godwin and A. Majer booked early, while Kahuan and Samuel Šimek each picked up two for the visitors.
The statistics tell a familiar story. Mladá Boleslav controlled possession at 69 per cent and completed 531 passes compared to Pardubice's 224. Yet both teams created two big chances each, and the shot accuracy figures—23 per cent for the hosts versus 30 per cent for the visitors—suggest neither side took their opportunities with any real ruthlessness. Pardubice registered eleven shots despite their limited territory, while the visitors managed only seven.
What matters more than the numbers is what this result means going forward. Mladá Boleslav sit third with fourteen points after six games and remain on course for an unbeaten campaign. Pardubice, meanwhile, have lost five of their last seven league matches including defeats to Slavia Prague, Jablonec and Hradec Králové. They have nothing to lose, but also little to gain from a point that feels like a reprieve rather than a breakthrough.
