The visitors kept knocking on the door throughout the second half. Rapperswil dominated possession at 55 per cent but could only muster two shots on target from 18 attempts. Winterthur were more clinical, registering five shots on target from 14 efforts.
Both managers reshuffled their lines. Rapperswil brought on Rossier, Bakayoko, Buess, Pousa, Charveys, Beyer, Kehrer, Diarrassouba and Zuffi in various combinations. Winterthur made fewer changes, bringing on Marchesano and others to see out the game.
On the table, Rapperswil sit ninth with four points from seven matches. Winterthur occupy fifth place on nine points after six games. The gap between them is already two points, and the visitors look the more settled side.
