Maliq 6, Vushtria 1
Maliq took a commanding start to the Superliga regular season with a 6-1 victory over Vushtria on Saturday. The visitors looked comfortable from the opening exchanges and never let the hosts back into the contest, putting the result beyond doubt before the final whistle.
K. Dulaj opened the scoring inside five minutes, a sharp finish that set the tone for the afternoon. K. Uka doubled the lead before the break, then added his second after the interval when Vushtria had already pulled one back through D. Kryeziu in the 52nd minute. Maliq went on to score three more, L. Xhylani, M. Bushaj and Sahiti rounding off a comprehensive display.
By then the match had settled into a pattern. Maliq controlled 73 per cent of possession and registered nine shots on target, though they also missed several opportunities. Vushtria managed five on target but had just 27 per cent of the ball and could only muster two corners.
And here's the thing — the statistics tell only part of the story. Maliq created more chances but didn't convert them all, while Vushtria were largely outplayed and rarely threatened. The hosts picked up two yellow cards and had no red cards to contend with, but the result spoke for itself.
Maliq sit top of the table with ten points from four games, three wins and a draw. Vushtria are in eighth place with zero points from four defeats. The gap between them is already substantial, and this result does little to suggest the hosts will close it anytime soon.
