Pejić levelled shortly after. N. Stojanović restored the advantage early in the second half, and G. Cunha sealed the victory with a late strike.
And here's the thing about Dragović's opener — it came at a moment when Velež were pressing forward. The Serbian defender timed his run perfectly, meeting a cross that caught the away defence flat-footed. It was the kind of goal that comes from watching the right channels, not just the ball.

The result lifts Željezničar into sixth place with seven points from five games. Velež remain in ninth on four points from six matches, a gap that feels wider than the numbers suggest.
For the hosts, this ends a run of mixed results that had them staring at the drop. Three defeats in their last five had brought questions, but the performance against Velež was a statement. The away side, meanwhile, continue to struggle away from home and will need to regroup quickly.
