Zvezda Gradacac ended their winless start to the First League (FBiH) season with a 2:0 victory over Radnik Hadžići at home on Saturday. The result, secured through goals from Eldin Mehmedovic and Ajdin Avdic, finally lifted the hosts off the bottom of the table. By then, two defeats had left them with zero points and a goal difference of -5.
Mehmedovic struck first just before the interval, finishing in the 43rd minute to give Zvezda a slender lead. The goal came after a period of sustained pressure from the home side, who had been searching for something to break their recent run. And here's the thing — it was their first league goal since the 6:0 win against Zvezda 09 in July.
Radnik thought they had equalised in the second half, but a subsequent attack saw Avdic slot home in the 74th minute to restore Zvezda's advantage. The visitors struggled to find rhythm against a home side that ran the show more comfortably than their recent form suggested. Radnik had drawn their opening two matches before this defeat.
The result moves Zvezda onto one point from three games, while Radnik drop to seventh place with just four points from their opening fixtures. The visitors remain unbeaten but will be frustrated to see a clean-sheet run come to an end against a side that had not scored in either previous league appearance.
Zvezda's recent results paint a mixed picture — heavy defeats to Posusje and TOŠK Tešanj contrast with earlier confidence against lower-ranked opposition. Radnik, meanwhile, have shown more consistency, drawing both their opening matches before finding the net against TOŠK Tešanj in their most recent outing.
For Zvezda, this was the breakthrough they needed — not just a result, but a statement that they could compete when it mattered. By then, the goal difference gap had narrowed to -4, and the pressure on the coaching staff to deliver something tangible was already mounting.
