A. Bergvik

Arvid Bergvik came through the ranks at Närpes Kraft before leaving his home club in 2023. A year later he moved to Vasa IFK, joining the under-17 side while combining football with his studies — a step that took him away from Närpes but kept him within reach of senior football. The switch paid off in 2025, when he was promoted to the VIFK first team and began playing regular football in the Kakkonen, starting 14 matches and scoring twice from midfield.

That form led to his move to IFK Mariehamn, where he signed a three-year contract on a free transfer, joining the Veikkausliiga side from the start of 2026. It is a considerable jump in level from the Finnish second tier, and one that came without a transfer fee changing hands, reflecting how his stock had risen after just one season of senior football in Vasa.

Born in Närpes, Bergvik plays as a midfielder and now wears the number 14 shirt at Mariehamn, having worn number 3 during his time at VIFK. His path so far has been a steady rise through Finland's lower tiers rather than a single breakthrough moment — youth football at Närpes Kraft, a formative stint at VIFK, and now a top-flight opportunity on the Åland Islands.
