André Filipe Castanheira Ceitil

The move that lifted André Ceitil into Portugal's top flight came without a transfer fee. He joined C.D. Ceitil played there in 2025/26, in a spell that brought him 65 to 71 appearances and four goals in all.

The holding midfielder, born in Almada in 1995, turned professional in 2014 with C.D. Cova da Piedade , where he spent two seasons and made 45 appearances with three goals. Single-season stops followed at S.U. Sintrense and then S.C. Farense , a goal apiece at each.

In July 2018 he signed a three-year contract with Leixões S.C. It did not run its course: the deal was terminated a year later, in July 2019. He left Portugal for Romania and a two-season contract with FC Universitatea Cluj in Liga II, but that arrangement lasted barely half a year. By January 2020 he was back home.

The return took him to U.D. Vilafranquense , where he settled for three and a half seasons — with 57 to 60 appearances and two goals before leaving in June 2023.

In January 2026 Ceitil signed for Académico de Viseu on a free transfer, with a contract running to June 2027. By the middle of 2026 he had made 13 to 15 appearances for the club without scoring.
