About the player
Justinussen spent an electrician's day job alongside a footballing career for years, playing semi-professionally for HB Tórshavn until January 2024, when he left the club he had represented since 2014. He finished as top scorer with 20 goals in 2018, the year he was also named Faroese Footballer of the Year, and won the league title twice, the Faroese Cup three times and the Super Cup twice with HB. One afternoon against Argja Bóltfelag in May 2020 stood out even by those standards — he scored a hat-trick of free kicks inside nine minutes.
He moved to Hillerød Fodbold on a free transfer and immediately translated his Faroese form to Danish football, scoring 14 league goals in 23 appearances during the 2024 season. He scored on his debut for the Faroe Islands national team on 22 March 2024, in a friendly against Liechtenstein.
His move to AC Horsens, agreed in October 2025 and taking effect the following January on a two-and-a-half-year contract, did not go smoothly. Hillerød's director Jackie Rasmussen accused the Danish Superliga club of "catastrophic communication" for announcing the signing before consulting Hillerød. The financial terms of the move were unusually specific for a Danish lower-league departure: a sign-on fee of up to two million kroner, split between arrival and a two-year milestone, alongside a monthly salary roughly four times what he had earned at Hillerød. Since joining Horsens he has made 13 appearances and scored three goals.
