Andrés De Jesús Sarmiento Salas

In 2016, still a teenager, he became top scorer of Colombia's Youth Super Cup with 26 goals and won the national Sub-19 title with Atlético Nacional, the club that gave him his start. A year earlier he had already topped the scoring charts at a Sub-17 youth world club tournament in Spain. That season also brought his first senior honours with Nacional: the Copa Colombia and the Copa Libertadores, both in 2016.

The following years took him away from home. A loan spell in Belgium with Mouscron in 2017 was followed by stints back in Colombia at Cúcuta Deportivo and Alianza Petrolera, then a season at Atlético Bucaramanga. In January 2022 he signed with Portugal's Vizela on a contract through 2025, but the deal was cancelled by mutual agreement before the year was out, cutting the move short. He then spent 2023 and 2024 at América de Cali before returning to Atlético Nacional in the middle of 2024.

Sarmiento won the Primera A title in the 2024 Clausura and added another Copa Colombia, and followed up in 2025 with the Superliga de Colombia. He had also collected the Recopa Sudamericana in 2017 and the Florida Cup in 2018, plus a domestic league title in the 2017 Apertura, along the way. According to FotMob, he made 112 appearances and scored 21 goals for the club across this second stint.

There is no record of Sarmiento having played for Colombia's senior national team.
