Ali Kabacalman

Ali Kabacalman was born in Lausanne and came up through the Lausanne-Sport academy, making his senior debut for the club in 2013. Loan spells followed at Monthey and Azzurri 90 before he settled into regular football with the Lausanne-Sport U21 side, where he scored 6 goals in 51 appearances between 2015 and 2017.

His path from there ran through the lower tiers of Swiss football. Two seasons at Chiasso brought 28 appearances, followed by a brief stint at Rapperswil-Jona in the Challenge League. The turning point came at Yverdon-Sport, where he joined on a free transfer in 2019 and grew into one of the side's key figures, making 101 appearances and scoring 4 goals. He was part of the Yverdon-Sport squad that won the Swiss Promotion League in 2020–21 and the Swiss Challenge League in 2022–23, promotions that took the club into the Super League picture.

Kabacalman moved to FC Sion on a free transfer in July 2023 and quickly became a starter, playing a defensively stabilising role in midfield. Sion won the Swiss Challenge League in 2023–24, earning promotion to the Swiss Super League. In March 2025 he was made captain of the club after signing a contract extension until 2027. He has continued to be a regular presence in Sion's midfield since promotion, having made over a hundred appearances for the club.
