Marquinhos Cipriano

Born in Catanduva, he came through the youth system at Desportivo Brasil before joining São Paulo FC in September 2015, when the club acquired 70% of his economic rights for around R$1 million. He made a single senior appearance for São Paulo before leaving for FC Shakhtar Donetsk in July 2018, a move worth a reported €1 million.

At Shakhtar he won the Ukrainian Premier League twice, in 2018–19 and 2019–20, and added the Ukrainian Cup in 2018–19. His time in Donetsk was interrupted by loans: a 2021–22 season at FC Sion, where he made 33 appearances across the Swiss Super League and Swiss Cup, followed later by spells at Cruzeiro EC and Avaí FC back in Brazil. Sion held an option to buy him outright after that loan but did not take it up. At Cruzeiro he won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B in 2022.

After leaving Shakhtar, Cipriano signed for AC Omonia in July 2023. Sion brought him back on a free transfer in August 2024, this time on a permanent deal running to June 2026 with an option for a further season.

He was also capped 11 times for Brazil's U-20 side between 2017 and 2019. He plays left-footed and now wears the number 6 shirt at Sion.
