Andrea Hristov

When Andrea Hristov made his senior debut for Bulgaria on 31 March 2021 in a World Cup qualifier against Northern Ireland, he shared the pitch with his twin brother Petko, who came on in the same match. The Sofia-born defender scored his first goal for the national side later that year, in a friendly against Georgia that Bulgaria won 4-0.

Hristov came through Levski Sofia's youth ranks before moving to the Slavia Sofia academy in 2013. He made his first-team debut there in October 2016, at 17, and signed his first professional contract the following April. He established himself as a regular starter and was part of the Slavia side that won the Bulgarian Cup in 2017-18. In April 2018, he was handed the captain's armband for a league match against Cherno More Varna.

A loan move took him to Cosenza in Italy in January 2019, and he returned there permanently in January 2022 after a second spell back at Slavia. His time in Italy also included loan spells at Reggiana, where he won the Serie C title in 2022-23, and at Potenza the following season. He left Cosenza on a free transfer in July 2025 to join Vizela in Portugal, agreeing a contract to 2027 with the option of a further year.

Hristov has featured for Bulgaria at every youth level from Under-17 to Under-21 before his senior call-up. Across his league career he has scored six goals in 176 appearances.
