Andreas Pereira

In June 2024, against Mexico, Andreas Pereira became the first player born outside Brazil to score for the Brazilian national team. He was born in Duffel, in the Belgian province of Antwerp.

The first of those was Lommel, where he started in 2002. PSV took him at the age of nine and kept him until 2011, when Manchester United signed him for their academy; the deal was agreed in November and completed the following January. He remained a United player until 2022 without appearing for the first team — Granada in 2016–17, Valencia in 2017–18, Lazio in 2020–21.

The last of those loans took him to Brazil. At Flamengo in 2021–22 he played 39 matches in all competitions and scored seven times; the club paid a €1m fee and covered 60 per cent of his wages. He left in June 2022, before the closing rounds of the Copa Libertadores and the Copa do Brasil, and received winners' medals from both.

A permanent move to Fulham followed on 11 July 2022. Palmeiras signed him on 29 August 2025 on a contract to the end of 2028, for a reported €10m — Fulham had been asking between €23m and €30m, and an opening bid of €18m was turned down. He scored his first goal for the club the following month.

His debut for Brazil came in 2018. By June 2025 he had won ten caps and scored twice, the second against Peru in October 2024, and he was called up through the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.
