About the player
Bailey Rice went through Motherwell's academy before turning down a professional contract there to join Rangers on 30 June 2022. The move paid off quickly: on 18 February 2023 he came on as an 88th-minute substitute against Livingston in a 3-0 Scottish Premiership win, a debut that made him the youngest post-war league player to appear for Rangers, at 16 years and 137 days.
Rangers rewarded him with a contract extension in September 2023, running until 2026. He continued to progress through the club's pathway, picking up the B Team Goal of the Season award for 2023/24. In the 2024-25 season he made 12 appearances for the first team, including starts in the UEFA Europa League against Nice and Athletic Bilbao.
Rice has also built a long record with Scotland's youth sides. He was capped at under-16 level, then earned 14 caps and scored once for the under-17s, whom he captained, before doing the same at under-19 level with 11 caps as captain. He made his under-21 debut in March 2025.
In June 2026, Rice joined Kilmarnock on a season-long loan.
