About the player
Botond Schön came through Budapest Honvéd's academy pipeline rather than arriving from outside it. His path ran through Kispest SE and the Városgazda Utánpótlás Akadémia before he returned to Kispest and then settled into the Honvéd MFA setup, where a formal transfer registration made the move official. That is the story of a player raised inside one club's system rather than assembled through the transfer market.
The academy years produced results at youth level: Schön won the Hungarian U14 national championship with Honvéd MFA, then repeated the feat at U16 two seasons later. He also scored goals for the club's U17 and U19 sides in domestic youth competition. Before reaching the first team, he had a spell with Honvéd II in NB III, a step that let him test himself against senior opposition without yet being thrown into the top flight.
That progression reached its point in the 2025/2026 season, when Schön made his senior appearances for Budapest Honvéd in the OTP Bank Liga. He has not yet been capped by Hungary's senior national team.
