About the player
Conan Noonan's career at Shamrock Rovers was interrupted in 2022 by a heart condition linked to Long COVID. After contracting the virus twice, he developed irregular heartbeats and was stood down for four to five months; doctors initially told him he might have to retire. He worked his way back gradually.
Noonan had come through the Shamrock Rovers academy, joining in 2018 and making his senior debut for the club in July 2021. Across his time there he won the League of Ireland Premier Division three times, in 2021, 2022 and 2023, and the President of Ireland's Cup twice, in 2022 and 2024.
In early 2025 he moved to Waterford on a season-long loan and made an immediate impact, playing 32 league matches and scoring six goals. Waterford took up the option to sign him permanently in December 2025 on a three-year contract, for a fee reported as a club record, believed to be €50,000.
At international level, Noonan has represented the Republic of Ireland at U21 level and earned one cap for the U21s, coming on as a substitute in a 2-2 friendly draw against England U20 on 11 June 2024.
