Donis Xhemë Avdijaj

Donis Avdijaj came through Schalke's academy after moving there from VfL Osnabrück, and by 2013 he was already collecting silverware with the club's youth sides: bronze in the Fritz Walter Medal for his age group, the Torneio Internacional Algarve U17, and the German Under-19 Bundesliga West title. He broke into Schalke's first team in 2014 and went on to make nine Bundesliga appearances, scoring twice, interrupted by a loan at Sturm Graz where he was considerably more productive, scoring nine goals in 42 games.

What followed was a long series of short stays. A loan at Roda JC preceded a free move to Willem II, cut short when his contract there was terminated within a year. Spells at Trabzonspor, Heart of Midlothian, FC Emmen and AEL Limassol followed in quick succession, each lasting only months. Transfermarkt credits him with a Turkish Cup winner's medal from his time at Trabzonspor, though he had already left the club by the time of the final and did not play in it.

Avdijaj found more stability at TSV Hartberg, whom he first joined in 2021. A move to FC Zürich a year later brought only nine league appearances before he returned to Hartberg, initially on loan and then permanently. Across his combined spells there he made 54 league appearances and scored 16 goals. He signed for Wolfsberger AC in July 2025 on a contract running until 2027.

Internationally, Avdijaj represented Germany at youth level before switching to Kosovo, for whom he won six caps and scored twice, including against Albania and Malta.
