David Kjær Kruse

David Kjær Kruse arrived at IFK Göteborg from Ligue 2, joining the Swedish club on a contract running until the end of 2028. His path there ran through Denmark's lower leagues and a spell in France: after coming through the youth ranks at Sole IF and Hedensted IF, he joined the AC Horsens academy, signed his first senior contract in August 2019, and broke into the first team a year later. He went on to make 67 league appearances for Horsens, a run that earned him a move to Valenciennes FC in August 2023 on a three-year deal, described by his old club simply as a "fine transfer" without a disclosed fee.

In France, Kruse made 22 league appearances for Valenciennes and scored once before a switch to Sweden in the summer of 2024, when he joined IFK Göteborg on a deal keeping him at the club until 2028. He has since found the net in both the Allsvenskan and the Svenska Cupen, operating as a right-footed central midfielder.

Kruse has represented Denmark at youth level, collecting caps for the under-20 side before stepping up to the under-21s, with whom he took part in the 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. He has not yet been capped by the senior national team.
