About the player
Six goals in a Serie C season is a return for a defender , and that is what Edoardo Pierozzi delivered in his campaign at Benevento. He played 35 league matches in 2025/26, scored six times and picked up four bookings, adding two Coppa Italia appearances and two in the Supercoppa Serie C. In 2026/27 he has made one appearance in Serie B.
His contract at Fiorentina, the club whose academy raised him, expired in the summer of 2025, and he signed a three-year deal with Benevento on 3 July 2025.
Pierozzi played 17 matches and scored once for Fiorentina's Primavera side in 2019/20, then never appeared for the first team. Instead came a chain of loans: Pistoiese in 2020/21, where he played 33 Serie C matches and scored twice; Alessandria the following season, 19 matches in Serie B, two in the Coppa Italia and one goal. Spells at Palermo and Como in 2022/23 brought two and three Serie B appearances respectively.
He played 29 Serie C matches in 2024/25 with three goals, then eight promotion play-off matches with another, plus two in the Coppa Italia Serie C.
He has not been selected for the under-21s.
