Edson Diego Aubert Cervantes

In 2011, with FBC Melgar fighting to stay in Peru's top flight, Edson Aubert scored the goal that saved the club from relegation. Across three spells — 2009–2011, 2012–2013 and 2020 — he made 103 appearances for Melgar and scored 14 goals.

He came through the academy at IDUNSA in Arequipa in 2003, and made his top-division debut with Atlético Universidad in 2005. A year later he won the Copa Perú with Total Chalaco, and in 2008 he turned out for Diablos Rojos in Juliaca.

The move to Alianza Lima in 2012 brought him the Copa Libertadores, but the spell was brief: he left the club after wage cuts. He then played for Los Caimanes, Real Garcilaso (58 games, five goals), Sport Huancayo, then short stays at Cienciano and Comerciantes Unidos in the same season.

His longest run came at Deportivo Binacional, where three separate periods added up to 171 matches and 12 goals. In 2019 he won the Peruvian championship with them. After the club were relegated in 2023, things came to a head: Aubert publicly criticised Binacional's president.

Aubert has collected 70 yellow cards and eight reds over a career of 445 matches and 34 goals, 425 of those appearances in Peru's first division.

He joined FC Cajamarca in August 2026 on a deal running to the end of the year, wearing number 88.
