About the player
Erik Ring arrived at Kilmarnock on 4 July 2026 on a two-year contract, joining after helping Lincoln City win the EFL League One title in the 2025–26 season. He had made 36 league appearances and scored three goals for the English club since his move there in August 2024, and by September 2026 had already featured four times for his new side in Scotland.
Ring came through the Huddinge IF and Segeltorps IF youth ranks before joining the AIK academy in November 2017. His breakthrough came in 2020, when he scored ten goals in ten P19 Allsvenskan Norra matches, form that brought him the 'Årets Unicoach-Forward' award the following January. He signed his first professional contract with AIK that September and made his senior debut against Hammarby IF on 20 September 2020, going on to make 49 league appearances for the club over four years.
A loan spell at Helsingborgs IF in 2023 gave him regular first-team football, and he scored six goals in 29 Superettan appearances during that season. He has also represented Sweden at U21 level, winning two caps in October 2021, including his debut in a 3–1 win over Montenegro in UEFA U21 Euro 2022 qualifying.
