About the player
Franci Bouebari came through the academy at RC Strasbourg Alsace, where he spent three years before making the step up to senior football with the reserve side, Strasbourg II, in 2022. With 19 appearances, he earned a first-team call and a professional debut for RC Strasbourg Alsace in January 2023, when he featured twice for the club that had raised him.
Rather than push for a first-team place in Strasbourg, Bouebari moved to Germany that summer on a free transfer, joining SC Freiburg II. He spent three seasons there, making 44 appearances, comfortable at both left-back and centre-back thanks to his ability to play with either foot.
The next step came in the form of a loan to Rot-Weiß Essen, where he arrived from Freiburg for the 2025–2026 season. He played 25 times and scored his first senior goal along the way. The move convinced both clubs to make the switch permanent, and the loan was turned into a full transfer at the end of May 2026.
Bouebari is of Congolese descent through his family background, though he has not been capped by either France or the Republic of the Congo at any level.
