About the player
Football runs in the family for Gabriël Reiziger: he is the son of former Dutch international Michael Reiziger. Born in Amsterdam, he started out at AFC Amsterdam before Ajax picked him up for its academy at the age of nine. He stayed with the club through 2022, when Ajax chose not to extend his youth contract.
The move that followed took him to PEC Zwolle, where he continued his development in the club's youth setup, first with the U19 side and then with the O21 reserve team. The 2024/25 season was his breakthrough at that level: playing for PEC Zwolle O21 in the Derde Divisie, he scored 15 goals in 26 matches, finishing as the team's joint top scorer.
That form earned him his first professional contract, signed on 28 May 2025 and running until 30 June 2028. Zwolle promoted him to the first team soon after, and he made his Eredivisie debut on 10 August 2025, coming off the bench in a 1-0 win over FC Twente. Since then he has made 12 Eredivisie appearances and scored a goal.
