Koen Kostons

Koen Kostons was born in Genk. At Dalkurd FF he scored 11 goals in 14 league appearances in the 2021 Ettan Norra season, a return that helped the club win promotion to the Superettan, where he added one more goal the following year. That form did not carry over immediately: back at MVV Maastricht for a second spell, then at SC Paderborn 07 in the 2. Bundesliga, his goals came mostly off the bench, three of them against Hannover 96, SV Elversberg and FC Cologne. A loan at KV Kortrijk in Belgium followed before he moved to PEC Zwolle, signing a contract running to June 2029.

He made his Zwolle debut in a 1–3 defeat to FC Twente and scored his first goal for the club six days later against SC Heerenveen. The move proved productive: by the end of the 2025–26 Eredivisie season he had made 34 league appearances, with 11 goals and 6 assists to his name. Manager Henry van der Vegt has pointed to his work rate and sprinting distance as part of what he brings to the side.

Kostons's time at Zwolle has not been without an awkward moment. In December 2025, celebrating a winning goal against Fortuna Sittard, he accidentally caught the club's groundskeeper with his knee, injuring him; he later apologised publicly for the incident.
