Thijs Oosting

Family ties run through Thijs Oosting's story on the pitch: his father, Joseph Oosting, is a coach, and when the midfielder scored the winning goal for PEC Zwolle against FC Twente on 10 August 2025, it was the third time he had found the net against a side managed by his own father.

Oosting came through the youth ranks at FC Emmen before AZ Alkmaar took him on. He made his senior bow with Jong AZ in the Eerste Divisie in November 2018, and over four seasons with the reserves he scored 17 goals in 57 appearances. He returned to AZ's first team the following season, scoring against Randers FC in the Conference League.

That form earned him a switch to FC Groningen in July 2024 for a similar fee, where a hat-trick against Kolping Boys in the KNVB Beker stood out among his 22 Eredivisie appearances.

He joined PEC Zwolle on loan from Groningen in the summer of 2025, and the move was made permanent on 15 May 2026 for roughly €0.8 million, with Oosting signing a contract to 2029. He has scored six goals in 34 matches for the club so far. Earlier in his career, he was capped by the Netherlands at under-17 and under-18 level, scoring once at each age group.
