About the player
Guilherme Neiva's rise took the long way round. After coming through Cruzeiro in Brazil, he left for Portugal in 2019 as a teenager and spent the next five years working through the lower tiers of Portuguese football — Valadares Gaia, Académica de Coimbra, Caçadores de Taipas, SC Vianense, Os Sandinenses.
That changed at Oliveira do Hospital. Signed on a free transfer in July 2024, the forward finished the 2024–2025 Liga 3 campaign with 11 goals in 27 appearances across all competitions, making him the club's top scorer and leaving him just short of the league's overall scoring title, which went to Diogo Ramalho.
On 5 July 2025, Neiva signed for AVS Futebol SAD on a free transfer, agreeing a contract that runs until 2027. He has not been capped by Brazil at any level, and Oliveira do Hospital remains the clearest evidence of what he can do in front of goal — now to be tested against better defences.
