About the player
Talcahuano gave Chilean football Harol Salgado. He started out at Comunal Cabrero in the third tier before moving to Arturo Fernández Vial in 2020, where he scored twice as the club won promotion through the Segunda División Profesional. A year later he switched to Coquimbo Unido, again ending the season with a title, this time the Primera B, and a place in the top flight for 2022. His stay in the Primera División lasted only half a season before he was loaned back to Arturo Fernández Vial.
The following year took him to Santiago Morning on loan, and in 2024 he signed permanently for AC Barnechea, where he had his best individual campaign: 11 goals in 26 matches in the Primera B, enough to finish as the club's top scorer. That form earned him a free move to Deportes Limache in the Primera División at the start of 2025.
His time at Limache was brief. In July 2025 he joined Universidad de Concepción, and the switch paid off almost immediately: the club won the Liga de Ascenso and secured promotion back to the Primera División. Salgado now arrives in the top flight with a title fresh behind him.
