About the player
Habib Sylla plays right-back for União de Leiria, a club he has represented in two separate spells. He first joined in July 2021 on a free transfer after leaving third-tier side AC Marinhense, where he had made 19 appearances the previous season.
The performances earned him a move to the Primeira Liga with G.D. Chaves in June 2022, again on a free transfer, where he spent the 2022–23 season and featured in roughly 16 to 19 matches across competitions. Rather than staying in the top flight, he returned to União de Leiria in July 2024, signing a two-year contract as the club competed in Liga Portugal 2.
In June 2026, he left Portugal for the first time, joining Romanian side SC Oțelul Galați on a free transfer with a contract running until 2028. Every move of his career to date has been completed without a transfer fee. Born in Agboville, Ivory Coast, Sylla began his development in the Vitória Guimarães academy before starting his senior career at Marinhense.
