Ivan Bašić

Ivan Bašić grew up in the HŠK Posušje youth ranks before moving to the HŠK Zrinjski Mostar academy in 2018, and he made his professional debut for the Mostar club on 22 August 2020. Over two seasons there he made 42 league appearances and scored seven goals, part of the side that won the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2021/22.

That form took him to FC Orenburg in July 2022 for a fee of €550,000. Across three seasons in Russia he made 85 appearances in all competitions, 69 of them in the Premier League, adding four goals and six assists before his contract expired in June 2025.

Bašić joined FC Astana as a free agent on 2 July 2025. He scored in the 56th minute against FC Zimbru Chișinău in a Europa Conference League qualifier that finished 1–1.

A left-footed midfielder eligible for both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, he chose to represent the former, making his senior debut against Slovakia in Euro 2024 qualifying in November 2023. He was part of the Bosnian squad that reached the 2026 World Cup through the play-offs, beating Wales after extra time and then reaching the final against Italy. At the tournament itself he featured against Canada, Switzerland and Qatar, setting up a goal in the win over Qatar. He also came through the Bosnia and Herzegovina U21 side, where he scored twice in twelve caps.
