J. Mpansu

Jimmy Mpanzu was born in Luanda, Angola, and holds both Angolan and Portuguese nationality, though he has not represented either country at senior or youth international level. A centre-back who stands 193cm tall, he began his career in France, coming through Onet-le-Château Football before joining FC Lyon, where he spent two years in the club's youth ranks.

His route into senior football took him away from France entirely. In September 2021 he signed for KHK Fužinar in Slovenia on a free transfer from Lyon, staying there for two seasons. From there he moved south to Cyprus, joining Akritas Chlorakas in the First Division in September 2023 and remaining until the summer of 2025.

The following two years saw him move through the Netherlands in quick succession. He joined SC Feyenoord on a free transfer in July 2025, but his time there was short, and by July 2026 he had signed for Sportlust '46, again without a fee changing hands. That stay proved brief too: within weeks he agreed a free transfer to Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih in the Ukrainian Premier League, the club where he now plays.

Across his career, Mpanzu's moves have followed a similar pattern: each transfer between Fužinar, Akritas Chlorakas, Feyenoord and Sportlust '46 came as a free agent rather than for a fee.
