Japhet Tanganga

Tanganga came through the Tottenham Hotspur academy and made his senior debut for the club in 2019, going on to make 27 league appearances before his contract expired in 2024. His time at Tottenham was interrupted by a loan to FC Augsburg in September 2023, which was cut short in January 2024 amid knee injuries, leaving him without a single competitive appearance for the German club.

The move that put him back on track came at Millwall, first on loan from January 2024, where he scored twice in 18 appearances, then on a permanent free transfer that summer. The following season he was named the club's Player of the Year, and he was signed by Sheffield United in August 2025 on a three-year contract, in a deal BBC Sport described as "significant".

Tanganga's representative career has so far been confined to England's youth sides. He progressed through the age groups from under-16 to under-21 level, featuring at the 2018 UEFA European Under-19 Championship and later making his under-21 debut at the 2021 European Championship. His most notable honour at youth level came in 2017, when he won the Toulon Tournament with England's under-20s. At club level, he was part of the Tottenham squad that finished runners-up in the EFL Cup in 2020–21, though he did not feature in the final itself.
