About the player
Jhan Pool Torres Cañete arrived in Brazilian football on loan. He came through Barranquilla FC, where he spent five years before Brusque Futebol Clube took him on loan in August 2024. In March 2025 he was named in the Team of the Second Phase of the Copa do Brasil, a nod reported at the time by the local newspaper O Município.
In December 2025, Torres signed permanently for Operário Ferroviário Esporte Clube, with a contract running to the end of 2028. By July 2026 he had already moved again, this time on loan to Athletic Club, in a deal announced around 10 July.
Torres plays as a left-footed centre-back, though some early records had him down as a midfielder — transfer announcements have since been explicit in describing him as a "zagueiro". He has not yet been capped by Colombia at senior or youth level, and his career to date carries no major team titles, individual recognition at Brusque aside.
