About the player
John Kitolano was born in Uvira, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and grew up through Norwegian football, playing for the Gulset IF youth ranks before joining the Odds BK academy. He made his senior debut for Odds BK in 2017, and by 18 he had earned a move to England, signing for Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2018. He never made a first-team appearance for Wolves, but he did pick up a trophy with the club's under-23 side, winning the Premier League 2 Division 2 title in the 2018/19 season.
Kitolano returned to Norway in 2020 on loan at Molde FK, where he made 10 league appearances and scored once, before a further loan spell back at Odds BK later that year. He rejoined Odds BK permanently and stayed through the 2021–2022 seasons. A move to Aalesunds FK followed in 2022, and he became a regular there over three seasons, making 71 league appearances and scoring once before leaving in 2025.
At youth level, Kitolano represented Norway from under-15 to under-20 level, earning 37 caps without scoring, though he has not yet featured for the senior national team.
In March 2026, Kitolano moved from Kristiansund BK to Lillestrøm SK on a deal running to the end of the 2026 season.
