About the player
Jójó was born in Lisbon and came through Benfica's academy after starting out at Amadora, before joining Belenenses SAD's youth ranks in 2017. He worked his way into the Belenenses SAD first team for the 2020/2021 season and signed his first professional contract in August 2021.
A loan to Paços de Ferreira for the 2023–2024 campaign included an option to buy that was not taken up, and Jójó returned to Belenenses SAD before moving on permanently. In August 2024 he joined Vizela on a permanent transfer. Since then he has gone out on loan again, this time to Sheriff Tiraspol for the 2025–2026 season, though that spell was cut short and he was back at Vizela by January 2026.
Although Portuguese by birth, Jójó plays his international football for Cape Verde, making his debut for the national side in May 2024 and going on to earn five caps. Across his career he has made 108 senior appearances, with three goals and one assist to his name.
