About the player
José Breno came through the Vitória academy, joining the club in 2017 before working his way up through the youth ranks, including a run in the Campeonato Brasileiro Sub-17. At 14 he was called up to a Brazil under-15 training camp at Granja Comary ahead of the South American U-15 Championship. He made his senior debut for Vitória in the Campeonato Baiano in February 2024 and reached the Série A that July.
The path since has run through loan spells. Itabuna took him on for the Série D in April 2024, and he scored once in nine appearances before Vitória recalled him that July. A second loan followed in 2025, this time to Londrina, where he featured 21 times across the Campeonato Paranaense and Série C. Vitória extended his contract through to 2028 in August 2024.
Breno was part of the Vitória squad that won the Copa do Nordeste, and shortly after that triumph, in July 2026, the club announced a new loan move, sending him to Portugal's Torreense in the Segunda Divisão, with an option to buy attached. A right-footed defensive midfielder, he has yet to add senior or age-group caps for Brazil beyond that early call-up.
