Jose Caicedo

Jose Caicedo made his Serie A debut with Libertad in 2022 and stayed with the club through the end of 2024. In 16 league appearances across that spell he set up one goal.

A free transfer took him to Leones del Norte in February 2025, dropping down to Ecuador's Serie B. He became a regular fixture there, playing 11 league matches and 563 minutes and adding another assist. His run with the club also included Copa Ecuador football, among them a start against Emelec in October 2025 that ended in a penalty shootout defeat after a draw in normal time.

Caicedo joined Técnico Universitario as a free agent on 23 January 2026, signing with the Ambato club through the end of that year. The move put him back in Serie A, and he has since made 20 league appearances in the 2026 campaign, one assist and a single yellow card, with his average rating hovering around the 6.2-6.4 mark across statistical services.

He has not featured for any Ecuador national team, at senior or youth level, and no titles are attached to his name. Sources list no serious injuries or contentious transfers in his file. He should not be confused with the Colombian midfielder José Caicedo, who played for Pumas UNAM, nor with fellow Ecuadorians Moezes or Jefferson Caicedo, a mix-up the shared surname makes easy to fall into.
