Julius Eskesen

Julius Eskesen made his way through the Danish youth system, starting at B1913 before joining Odense Boldklub, where he signed his first professional contract in 2017 and went on to make 35 league appearances. A free transfer took him to SønderjyskE in January 2020. He stayed for two years, before signing a four-year deal with Norwegian side FK Haugesund in March 2022. That spell became his most productive on the pitch, with 85 league appearances and 8 goals, but it ended under difficult circumstances. In March 2025, Eskesen suffered a medical emergency serious enough to require hospitalisation, and he later said he feared it might end his career. His departure from Haugesund followed a prolonged tug-of-war with the club, who were fighting relegation, over his wish to leave.

Eskesen joined Dundee United on 12 August 2025 on a two-year contract with a club option for a further year. Details of the fee were not disclosed, though reports pointed to a modest sum with sell-on clauses attached. By May 2026 he had made 14 league appearances for the Scottish Premiership club, scoring once — the winning goal against Falkirk in February 2026. In August 2026 he moved on loan to Finnish side KuPS, with an obligation to buy written into the deal for January 2027.

At international level, Eskesen has represented Denmark at every age group from U16 through U20, though he has not yet been capped by the senior side. Earlier in his career, in 2016, he was nominated for the "Årets Fund" (Discovery of the Year) award, though he did not win it.
