About the player
Maicol Ferreira returned to Danubio in January 2026 and needed just one match to make his mark: on 9 February, in his debut for the club in the Torneo Apertura against Cerro, he scored the winning goal. It closed a loop that began in the club's own youth academy, where he came through before making his first-team debut in 2018.
He left for Villa Española in 2019, came back to Danubio briefly the following January, then moved on again to CA Rentistas on a free transfer. A spell at Racing Club de Montevideo brought the clearest title of his career so far, the 2022 Uruguayan Segunda División, before a season at Centro Atlético Fénix.
In January 2024 he took his career abroad for the first time, joining FC Sheriff Tiraspol on a free transfer. After leaving Sheriff in March 2025, he signed for Colón FC, again without a fee changing hands, and played in the Segunda División. He was among the club's top scorers that season, though no individual awards have been attached to his name.
Ferreira has not been capped by Uruguay's senior national team.
