Matej Vuk

Four goals in nine appearances on loan at ŠKF Sereď remain the sharpest return of Matej Vuk's career, and they came in Slovakia rather than at home. He was 19, on his second loan away from HNK Rijeka.

Vuk came through the clubs of his own region — NK Mladost Prelog, then NK Međimurje and NK Čakovec — before Rijeka took him into their academy in 2014. He made his senior debut there in 2018, but the first team was somewhere he passed through rather than settled: a first loan to NK Inter Zaprešić brought twelve appearances and no goals, and when he returned to Rijeka for the 2021–22 season he played 23 league matches without scoring. He was, though, part of the squads that won the Croatian Cup in 2018–19 and 2019–20, and he made one appearance apiece in the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Europa Conference League.

NK Istra 1961 gave him the longest run of his career. The loan spell there produced 57 appearances and 11 goals, enough that he came back permanently on a free transfer in January 2023 and stayed two more years.

He left Istra in January 2025 and joined NK Varaždin, again for nothing. Across his senior career he has made roughly 168 league appearances and scored 20 league goals.

Croatia have capped him at every youth level from under-15 to under-21.
