Mátyás Kovács

Kovács's move to RAAL La Louvière in the summer of 2026 closed one chapter and opened another. MTK sent him out on loan twice to test him against senior football away from home — first to Fehérvár FC, where he made 21 appearances without finding the net, then to the Slovak side FC Košice, where he thrived, scoring eight goals and setting up nine more in 38 games and helping the club reach the final of the Slovak Cup. That loan spell proved decisive: it was on the back of it that MTK sold him permanently to RAAL La Louvière for a fee of €0.6 million, and he signed a two-year contract in Belgium with the option of a third.

After a first loan spell with the club's second team, where he scored seven goals in 24 appearances, he made his debut in Hungary's top flight, NB I, in early 2022. The following season he became a key part of the side that won the NB II title and returned MTK to the top division, going on to make 64 senior appearances for the club in total.

At international level, Kovács worked his way up through Hungary's youth ranks, from the under-15s through to the under-21 side, where he collected 15 caps and scored four goals between 2022 and 2024, without yet being called into the senior national team.
