About the player
Mikkel Fischer came through FC Skanderborg before moving into FC Midtjylland's academy in 2018, where he stayed until 2024 and won the U19 Ligaen title with the club's youth side in the 2022/2023 season. He never made a first-team appearance for Midtjylland despite being registered with the senior squad, and a loan spell at FC Fredericia gave him 30 appearances in the Danish 1st Division in 2023/2024.
Rather than break into Midtjylland's team on his return in the summer of 2024, Fischer was moved on again, this time to Norwegian side FK Haugesund, making 33 appearances in the Eliteserien and Norwegian Cup combined.
In January 2026 Fischer returned to Denmark with Lyngby, signing a contract running until 2030. He has made seven appearances for the club in the 2026/2027 season and scored his first senior goal along the way.
Fischer has represented Denmark extensively at youth level, collecting 25 caps across the U16, U18, U19 and U20 age groups between 2019 and 2024.
