About the player
Skanderborg brought Oskar Buur Rasmussen through its junior ranks before AGF Aarhus took him on, and it was there that he made his senior breakthrough, stepping into the league side at just 16 and racking up ten appearances before his release in 2017. A short spell at Brabrand IF without a competitive outing followed, and then came a move that reshaped his career: Wolverhampton Wanderers signed him as a teenager on a free transfer. His time at Molineux yielded only two first-team appearances, but one of them is worth remembering — coming off the bench against Hull City, he scored within thirteen minutes, the only senior goal of his career to date.
Opportunities at Wolves remained scarce, and a loan to Grasshopper Club Zürich in the Swiss Challenge League gave him regular football; he made ten appearances there as the club won the title. When his Wolves contract was terminated by mutual consent in January 2022, Buur moved to the Netherlands, joining FC Volendam and making 42 league appearances across two divisions.
In January 2025 he signed for Lyngby Boldklub on a free transfer, later extending his contract to 2027, and has since become a regular fixture in the side, passing 38 league appearances and scoring twice. He was part of the Lyngby squad relegated to the Danish 1st Division, then promoted straight back to the Superliga.
Buur represented Denmark extensively at youth level, from the under-16s through to the under-19s, scoring his single international goal at U19 level, and holds 26 caps across those age groups. He has not featured for the senior national team.
