About the player
Noé Sow's route to professional football ran through half a dozen clubs. Born in Quimperlé, he started out at Fleur de Genêt Bannalec before two years in the Stade Rennais academy, and when that door closed he kept moving: Changé, Vannes, FC Quimperlé, Plouzané AC, Stade Plabennécois, then the reserve side of Stade Brestois 29. At Plabennec he made 24 appearances and scored once; at Brest II he added 19 games and two goals.
In June 2020, Pau FC handed him his first professional contract. Sow had to wait until 30 July 2022 for his professional debut, and went on to make 25 appearances in Ligue 2 during his time at the club.
Sion signed him the same way in July 2024, taking the defender on a free transfer and committing to him until June 2028. He has since established himself in the Swiss Super League with the club, arriving after their Swiss Cup and Challenge League successes rather than being part of them. Sow holds dual French and Senegalese nationality but has not been capped by either country at senior or youth level.
