About the player
Oliver Jones came through the youth ranks at Hakoah Sydney City East before moving into the Macarthur FC academy system, known there as Bulls FC Academy. While developing at Macarthur, he spent time out with the reserve side Northbridge Bulls. That grounding paid off with two Australia Cup wins during his spell at the club, and he was recognised on occasion as Macarthur's Members' Player of the Match.
His progress was enough for Macarthur to tie him down with a three-year contract extension in January 2025, a deal that would have kept him at the club into the 2027/28 season. Instead, that same month brought a move abroad: Randers FC signed him for a reported fee of around €240,000, taking him to the Danish Superliga on a contract running to the winter of 2028.
Jones is an English-born Australian international-eligible defender, having been born in Goodmayes before representing Australia at club level through the Macarthur pathway. At Randers he wears the number 5 shirt.
