Paddy Barrett

Paddy Barrett's career has taken him well beyond the League of Ireland. After coming through the Dundee United academy without making a senior appearance, he returned to Ireland and worked his way through Waterford, Galway United and Dundalk, where he collected a clutch of honours, including two Premier Division titles and the FAI Cup. A second spell at Waterford brought the First Division title before he crossed the Atlantic, spending a season with FC Cincinnati and two more with Indy Eleven in the United States. A brief stint in Cambodia with Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng followed, before he returned home to St Patrick's Athletic, where he added another FAI Cup to his collection.

Barrett joined Shelbourne on a free transfer in 2023, passing 90 league appearances for the club. He won the Premier Division title with Shelbourne in 2024, followed by the President of Ireland's Cup in 2025. His form has been recognised at league level in successive seasons, with places in the PFAI Premier Division Team of the Year in both 2024 and 2025, adding to a First Division Team of the Year selection he earned earlier in his career at Waterford.

Barrett has not been capped by the Republic of Ireland at senior level.
