Ross McCrorie

McCrorie came through the Rangers academy and made his senior debut for the club in 2017, before a run of loans took him around Scottish and English football: Ayr United in 2016, where he helped the club win promotion to the Scottish Championship, Dumbarton in 2017, and Portsmouth in League One during the 2019–2020 season. He was sent off on his debut against Shrewsbury, and he was also dismissed twice for Rangers, against St Mirren and Celtic in 2018.

Aberdeen signed him on loan in August 2020 before making the move permanent the following year, and McCrorie went on to make more than 90 appearances at Pittodrie. A red card against St Mirren in 2023 brought a two-match ban after a failed appeal, but that summer, Bristol City paid £2 million plus add-ons to bring him to Ashton Gate on a three-year deal.

The move was disrupted almost immediately by a severe pelvic bone infection that kept him out for six months, but McCrorie recovered to become a regular fixture, making 81 appearances and scoring 8 goals for the club. He earned his first Scotland cap in June 2024 against Gibraltar. In June 2026, he returned to Rangers on a three-year contract with the option of a further year, closing the loop on a career that began in the same academy.
