Santiago Solari

Santiago Solari is the son of Santiago Solari, the former Argentine forward and coach, and the two share more than a name: the younger Solari has taken a similarly winding route through Argentine football before finding a home at Racing Club. His start came at Vélez Sarsfield's youth academy, where he spent close to a decade without ever forcing his way to a first-team debut.

From there his career moved through a string of smaller clubs — Club Victoria, then Juventud Unida Universitario — interrupted by loan spells at Atlanta and Gimnasia y Esgrima that gave him first-team minutes away from his parent side. It was a step up to Defensa y Justicia in 2023 that put him on the radar of a bigger club, and in January 2024 Racing Club paid a reported €2.7 million to sign him, a fee that marked the largest move of his career so far.

Solari plays as a winger, wearing number 28 at Racing. He has yet to earn a senior international call-up, a contrast with his father, who won 11 caps for Argentina.
