Anton Tim Gösta Rönning

Tim Rönning spent almost six years on the books at IF Elfsborg before a free transfer to Halmstads BK reshaped his career in January 2024, when his contract in Borås expired and both clubs confirmed the move without disclosing a fee. He arrived in Halmstad on a deal running to the end of 2027 and took the number 1 shirt.

His path there started far from Allsvenskan football, at Kilafors IF, his local club in Bollnäs Municipality, where he played senior football in Division 6 as a teenager. A move to Hudiksvalls FF in August 2014 was followed almost immediately by a loan to Forsa IF, where he made 12 appearances in Division 4 across the rest of that season and the first half of 2015. Elfsborg's academy signed him that May, and by July 2018 he had been promoted to the senior squad.

Rönning made his Allsvenskan debut for Elfsborg on 16 September 2019 against AFC Eskilstuna, and within a year had become the club's undisputed first-choice goalkeeper, playing all 30 league matches in 2020 as Elfsborg finished the season as runners-up. He followed that with 25 league appearances and 10 clean sheets in 2021, a campaign that also brought European football in the UEFA Europa Conference League, and remained first choice through 2022. By the time he left, his Elfsborg career had brought him around 121 Allsvenskan appearances, 19 in the Svenska Cupen and 12 in European competition.

At youth international level, Rönning was capped twice for Sweden's under-17s and eight times for the under-19s, making his U19 debut against England in October 2016.
