Vicko Ševelj

Vicko Ševelj came up through Dubrovnik's own youth football, moving from GOŠK Dubrovnik and local club Dubrovnik 1919 into Hajduk Split's academy before making his senior debut for the Split side in April 2021. That first-team run was brief, just three appearances, and by June of the same year he had moved on a free transfer to FK Sarajevo. Loan spells followed, including a stint at NK Radomlje that led to a permanent move there in July 2022, where he settled in for two seasons and made 60 appearances.

It was at Dundee United, though, that Ševelj built his reputation. Wearing the number 5 shirt, the Croatian midfielder made 88 appearances and scored twice, and his form over the 2024/25 campaign earned him the club's Player of the Year award. A right-footed player capable of playing as a defensive midfielder, centre-back or right-back, that versatility underpinned his role at Tannadice Park before he left the club on a free transfer.

Internationally, Ševelj has represented Croatia at U20 level, collecting five caps and a goal between 2019 and 2023, though a senior call-up has not yet followed. Every move of his career so far, from Hajduk to Sarajevo, from Sarajevo to Radomlje, and on to Dundee United, has come on a free transfer.
