Valmir Matošić

Valmir Matoshi spent four years in the youth ranks at FC Hünibach, marking his departure with a farewell autograph session before joining the FC Thun academy in April 2023. He worked his way up through the Thun youth sides, including the U21 team, and signed his first professional contract with the senior squad in November 2022, a deal running to 2025 with an option for a further two seasons.

At FC Thun the midfielder wore the number 78 shirt and was part of the squad that won the Swiss Challenge League in the 2024–25 season, followed by the Swiss Super League title the following season. Alongside his club football, Matoshi also represented Switzerland at youth level, appearing for the U20s and later the U21s between 2023 and 2024.

Holding dual Swiss and Kosovar citizenship, he chose to commit his senior international future to Kosovo, for whom he has already won caps. Interest in the midfielder grew beyond Switzerland, with links to Union Berlin, Genoa and Lecce all reported before a move eventually materialised elsewhere. In August 2026 Matoshi transferred from FC Thun to Austrian club Sturm Graz, signing a four-year contract in a deal reported to be worth between €1 million and €1.5 million.
